after having rested enough, i think i'm up for blogging about the wedding.
well, generally it went really well. a lot of people (friends from australia, friends of my rents, my relatives, and others) came up to pay their compliments. well i'm glad that my retirement job is somehow secured. HAHA. as most of my close friends would have known by now, i do intend to go into hotel management some time in the later part of my life.
and the 2 reasons that are pulling me back from starting young, would be my knowing definite regrets if i give up pursuing medicine, and the plain pragmatic fact that hotel management isn't a professional degree.
anyhow, it was really a sense of accomplishment i felt, after months and months, (to be exact, a year) of hard work put into the wedding; the deco, favours, food, location, entertainment, effects, etc. all came out good (: my only regret would be that the three tier wedding cake wasn't real. LOL. still, it's pretty costly to order for a three tier cake thats real and edible from tier one to tier three.
even christmas this year was slightly different, cause firstly i spent it with my official brother in law and family+2 cousins(: secondly, it was just dinner, and a short time of gift exchange. its different, cause this time, christmas didn't seem as 'important' as the wedding was just so close to it.
i was pretty worn out during the last week just before the wedding. there was just so many things to tie up, things that couldn't be done til 2 days before the wedding (eg: cookies) and some hiccups along the way. but thanks be to God cause everything was eventually ironed out, and my uncles and aunties were particularly helpful during the wedding, for both night and day receptions :D
there was a fair share of dissatisfaction after the wedding; some things couldn't be helped, but some COULD. especially when it comes to KEEPING PROMISES. i hate it when people make promises that they didn't carry out eventually. it really is a form of betrayal cause you've placed your trust on someone, trusting that he/she will carry out her word, and what happened? still, disgusted as i am, i've learnt how to deal with it. it's not like i don't have such 'friends' out there.
the night following the wedding was of course new year eves party in the bridal suite. it was really a high end party. and for once, i was in a total westernised party cept for family. it's really different. plus the booze, wasn't the normal vodka and other spirits, there was more champagne than soda. -grins-
oh yes HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GREG (: i'm so so sorry its like SO LATE. i kinda locked my mind when it came to everything that took place on the 30th and 31st. lol.
and so, a bad side effect that resulted from all the partying and late nights, coupled with not enough sleep, i seriously need a break. am openly hoping that sarah won't get a job, so i'll head down for a week or two and stay there.
i do deserve a break.
...
massdance at suntec yesterday brought back memories of council. and it made me realise that i really do miss the council days, especially when we'll all get damn sweaty after working hard on some dubious saikang, and then just head back to the council room to relax. dinner ordered with miss jansy, leaving school when it's only 11pm, climbing over that gate that doesn't serves its purpose of keeping others out cause its so easy to climb, and the tree houses, where we'll just play bridge, while trying to keep a watchful eye out for mr seet.
still i can't deny that i'm old. :(( this year i'll be approaching the big two-o. AHHH.
oh yes. charis dear, CONGRATS ON PASSING DRIVING (: now all 3 of us can drive. HAHA. but your road rage sounds a bit scary. remember to just do it verbally! loll.
...
and maybe it's time for you to tell me whether it's even worth holding on and hoping that all could be salvaged.
BLAH eh.
yeah.
